Faith RXD Passion WOD 2024

This year, as part of our observance of Easter, we took a moment to reflect on the pain and suffering Jesus experienced when He laid down His life in an act of sacrificial love for the human race. We joined gyms and FAITH RXD Chapters around the world as we hosted the Passion WOD on Easter Weekend 2024.

PASSION WOD

  • 100 Double Unders

  • 800M Barbell Carry

  • 100 Burpees

Each movement holds significant meaning:

  • Double Unders — to remind us of the lashings He received by a whip with shards of bone and metal that ripped His back.

  • Barbell Carry/Back Rack Stepping Lunges — to symbolize Jesus carrying His own crossbar to His execution site as He took the weight of our sin upon Himself.

  • Burpees — to signify Him conquering death by rising again.

“He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds.” Isaiah 53:5

Reflecting on the Faith RXD Passion WOD: A Journey of Sacrifice, Strength, and Surrender

March 30th marked a profound day at Finucane Park as we gathered for the inaugural FAITH RXD Passion WOD. It was more than just a workout; it was a poignant remembrance of Jesus’ unwavering love and sacrifice for us on the cross. With over 30 individuals joining us, it became a collective journey of perseverance, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

The Passion WOD, meticulously crafted to embody the essence of Christ’s suffering and triumph, comprised three profound movements: 100 Double Unders, an 800m barbell carry, and 100 burpees. Each movement was laden with symbolism, serving as a poignant reminder of Jesus’ journey to redemption.

The Double Unders, reminiscent of the lashings inflicted upon Jesus, echoed with every rhythmic jump, reminding us of the excruciating pain He endured for our salvation. As we propelled ourselves through the air, the weight of His sacrifice became palpable.

The Barbell Carry, bearing the burden of our sins, mirrored Jesus’ agonizing trek to Golgotha. With each step, we carried the weight of our imperfections, yet found strength in His unyielding grace.

And finally, the Burpees, a testament to Jesus’ victory over death. As we rose from the ground, we embraced the promise of resurrection and eternal life, empowered by His triumph.

Beyond the physical exertion, the Passion WOD fostered a deeper sense of community and spiritual connection. We shared words of encouragement, pushing each other to persevere through the discomfort, mirroring the support Jesus received from Simon of Cyrene on his journey.

Following the workout, amidst the sheen of sweat and the thud of exhausted bodies, we gathered to witness the testimony of a dear sister, a testament to God’s unwavering faithfulness in the midst of trials. Her story illuminated the transformative power of God’s love, igniting a flame of hope in our hearts.

As Robbie concluded our time together, the atmosphere was charged with reverence and anticipation. In a moment of divine intervention, two souls surrendered their lives to Christ, embodying the essence of resurrection and new beginnings. In that sacred moment, amidst the earthly realm, heaven rejoiced.

The FAITH RXD Passion WOD transcended the confines of a mere workout; it was a journey of the soul, a testament to the transformative power of faith and community. As we reflect on this profound experience, we are humbled by God’s goodness and anticipate with eager hearts the next chapter of our collective journey.

In strength and surrender, we continue to press forward, fortified by the bonds of fellowship and the unshakeable promise of redemption. For in the crucible of sacrifice, we find the truest expression of love and the boundless grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We eagerly await the next opportunity to gather, to grow stronger—physically, spiritually, and communally—in the radiant light of His love.

May our hearts remain steadfast, our spirits resilient, and our faith unwavering as we journey onward, guided by the enduring light of His grace.
